Step 2: Take and pass a 40-hour RBT course

You can get the training in a single course or in several units that add up to 40 hours. You must also finish the training within 180 days, but not less than 5 days.
Step 3: Pass the competency assessment with BCBA

Conducting a first RBT Competency Assessment under the supervision of a competent BACB certificant who satisfies the supervision standards is the next stage. After applying, you have 90 days to finish the RBT Competency Assessment.
Step 4: Pass the RBT exam
You can plan your RBT test at Pearson VUE after you finish the RBT Competency Assessment. The test is on a computer and has 85 multiple-choice questions, but only 75 will be used to calculate the final grade. The last 10 questions are practice tests for tests that will come later.
You have 90 minutes to answer all the questions. To pass, you need to get at least 80%. The RBT qualification exam covers six of the tasks on the RBT list:
